Colombia is well known in the nature world for its incredible flora & fauna. This enchanted country, located between the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean and crossed by the Andes, is the birdiest country on Earth! There are over 1,900 species of birds and more than 80 endemics found here. Colombia is number one in butterflies with over 3,600 species, and more than 200 of them are not found anywhere else in the world. It also holds the largest number of orchids in the world, with more than 4,000 different species and 1,543 are only found in the country. During this tour we will have the opportunity to photograph the wonders of nature in the western & Central Andes.

On this incredible journey, we’ll venture to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and the Guajira Peninsula, located on Colombia’s northernmost coast. The Santa Marta Mountains are an isolated massif rising dramatically from the Caribbean coastline, with snow-capped peaks that are the tallest coastal mountains in the world. This unique region is one of South America’s top biodiversity hotspots, home to nearly 50 endemic and regional bird species, along with numerous endemic subspecies—many of which are likely to be recognized as full species in the near future.

Located in southeastern Colombia, Inírida is a unique region where the Amazonian, Orinoquian, and Guiana Shield ecosystems converge. Crisscrossed by a vast network of rivers and waterways, its rich Biodiversity stems from the influences of the Andes, the Guiana Shield, and the Amazon Basin. This remarkable meeting point of ecosystems supports an extraordinary range of wildlife, making it one of the most important conservation areas within the Orinoco River watershed. On the trip, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a stunning variety of habitats—including floating forests, varzea forests, white-sand savannas, and both primary and secondary rainforests.

Join us on this bird survey for the birds of Cuba in which we explore the Cuban world famous landscapes, vibrant culture, and unique biodiversity. We will search the island in a quest of all Cuba’s possible endemic birds. Along the way we will see Caribbean specialties and a bunch of north American migrants.

Travel with us for a week to an island full of endemics. We will enjoy this beautiful country from the crystal clear beaches to the coastal scrub and all the way to the delicious coffee in the Blue Mountains.

Surrounded by the vibrant blues, turquoises, and greens of the warm Caribbean Sea, the island boasts a rich variety of habitats—from misty highland forests to lush coastal wetlands. While it may not always get the spotlight compared to the larger islands in the region, Puerto Rico holds its own as a top destination for bird enthusiasts. Home to 17 endemic species and many other Caribbean specialties, it truly is a birder’s paradise.
